Wendy Leticia Ramirez

Wendy Leticia Ramirez, 42, of Kearney, Nebraska, passed away on Wednesday, January 15, 2025, at CHI Health Good Samaritan in Kearney, surrounded by her loving family.

She was born on September 2, 1982, in Guatemala, to Gerardo Ramirez to Olga Leticia Martinez. Wendy and her family moved to California when she turned seven to be reunited with relatives and also attended public school there. She graduated from Bell Gardens High School with the class of 2000. In 2007, Wendy moved once again to Nebraska, to be closer to her mom, and made her home in Kearney.

Wendy had an incredibly bubbly personality, making others laugh, and always willing to try new things. She loved helping others and never hesitated to assist those in need. She would take the shirt off her back if she needed to in order to help others. She possessed a pureness in her heart that she shared with her family who she deeply cared for and always held a special place in her heart for her nieces and nephews. She was a selfless and kindhearted person, always doing things out of the kindness of her heart. She loved to color, read her bible, pray, and travel as often as she could and was also known as a phenomenal cook. Wendy was a social butterfly whose personality would shine through daily, which made it easy for her to make new friends with anyone she met.

Wendy was a warrior through everything and anything. She had an unbreakable faith that helped her through difficult situations. No matter what she had going on in her life, she always made sure to look at the bright side of things and knew that God was always by her side. Often times, she would use her tough life experiences as testimony for others that were going through similar situations. Showing them that they had the strength to power through. She always found her strength in God and walked in that faith until her last breath. 

Those left to cherish her memory is her father, Gerardo Ramirez of California; stepfather, Sergio Hernandez of Kearney; siblings, Cindy (Juan Moya) Ramirez of Lexington, and Daniel (Kayla) Ramirez of Murfreesboro, Tennessee; nieces and nephews, Jacob Moya, Hannah Moya, and Abbie Ramirez, and another on the way; aunts, Angelica Martinez of California and Albina Martinez of Dorchester, Nebraska; cousin, Jaime Martinez of California; as well as extended family and many friends. 

Wendy was preceded in death by her mother, Olga Leticia Martinez.

Visitation will be held on Sunday, January 19, 2025, from 1-6 p.m. with a Consolation Service to follow at 6:00 p.m. at Iglesia de Dios Caminos de Santidad in Lexington.

Funeral Services will be held on Monday, January 20, 2025, from 1:00 to 3:00 p.m. at Iglesia de Dios Caminos de Santidad in Lexington with Pastor Jorge Cardenas, officiating.

Burial will be held at Greenwood Cemetery in Lexington.

Memorials are kindly suggested to the family for later designation.

Wendy Leticia Ramírez, de 42 años, de Kearney, Nebraska, falleció el miércoles 15 de enero de 2025, en Salud CHI buen samaritano en Kearney, rodeada de su amada familia. 

Nació el 2 de septiembre de 1982, en Guatemala, hijo de Gerardo Ramírez y Olga Leticia Martínez. Wendy y su familia se mudaron a California cuando cumplió siete años para reunirse con familiares y también fue a la escuela pública allí. Se graduó de Bell Gardens High School con la clase de 2000. En 2007, Wendy se mudó una vez más a Nebraska, para estar más cerca de su mamá, y estableció su hogar en Kearney.

Wendy tenía una personalidad increíblemente burbujeante, haciendo reír a otros, y siempre dispuesta a probar cosas nuevas. Le encantaba ayudar a los demás y nunca dudó en ayudar a los necesitados. Ella se quitaría la camisa de la espalda si lo necesitaba para ayudar a otros. Poseía una pureza en su corazón que compartía con su familia a la que cuidaba profundamente y siempre ocupaba un lugar especial en su corazón para sus sobrinos y sobrinas. Ella era una persona desinteresada y bondadosa, siempre haciendo las cosas por la bondad de su corazón. Le encantaba colorear, leer su biblia y viajar tan a menudo como podía y también era conocida como una cocinera fenomenal. Wendy era una mariposa social cuya personalidad brillaba a diario, lo que le facilitaba hacer nuevos amigos con cualquiera que conociera.

Wendy era una guerrera a través de todo y cualquier cosa. Ella tenía una fe inquebrantable que la ayudó a través de situaciones difíciles. No importa lo que ella había sucedido en su vida, ella siempre se aseguró de mirar el lado positivo de las cosas y sabía que Dios estaba siempre a su lado. Muchas veces, ella usaba sus duras experiencias de vida como testimonio para otros que estaban pasando por situaciones similares. Mostrándoles que tenían la fuerza para poder a través. Siempre encontró su fuerza en Dios y caminó en esa fe hasta su último aliento.

Los que quedaron para apreciar su memoria son su padre, Gerardo Ramírez de California; padrastro, Sergio Hernández de Kearney; sus hermanos, Cindy (Juan Moya) Ramírez de Lexington, y Daniel (Kayla) Ramírez de Murfreesboro, Tennessee; sobrinas y sobrinos, Jacob Moya, Hannah Moya, y Abbie Ramírez; tias, Angelica Martinez de California y Albina Martinez de Dorchester, Nebraska; primo, Jaime Martinez de California; así como la familia extendida y muchos amigos.

La visitación se llevará a cabo el domingo 19 de enero de 2025, de 1 a 6 p.m. con un Servicio de Consolación a las 6:00 p.m. en la Iglesia de Dios Caminos de Santidad en Lexington.

Los servicios fúnebres se llevarán a cabo el lunes 20 de enero de 2025, de 1:00 a 3:00 p.m. en la Iglesia de Dios Caminos de Santidad en Lexington con el pastor Jorge Cárdenas, oficiando.

El Entierro se llevarán a cabo en el cementerio Greenwood en Lexington.

 Los Monumentos se sugieren amablemente a la familia para su posterior designación.
