Wanda E. Mullin, 91, of Lexington, Nebraska, died Wednesday, November 15, 2017 at Plum Creek Healthcare Community. Wanda was born July 22, 1926, in Custer County, to James and Flora (Barker) Lange. She attended Redfern Table School in Custer County. Wanda lived on the farm and took care of her younger siblings. Wanda moved to Lexington in 1946, where she started working for the telephone company. On April 14, 1947, she was united in marriage to Glen C. “Moon” Mullin in Lexington. Four children were blessed to this marriage; Glenda, Paula, Samuel and Carrie. Wanda was a homemaker and raised her children. The couple lived in Lexington until 1992 when they moved to Johnson Lake. Wanda spent her last twelve years living in Lexington. Wanda was a member of the First Presbyterian Church, Ladies VFW Auxiliary, Danish Sisterhood of America, Sodhouse Society, Red Hat Society and volunteered many years at the Grand Generation Center. Wanda enjoyed working on crafts, putting puzzles together and sewing. Many of her friends knew her for her love of quilting. She also loved spending time with her family and attending her grandchildren’s sporting events. The Orphanage Train in Holdrege made an impact on her life as well. She has many fond memories of working with the orphan’s in Holdrege. Survivors include her children, Samuel (Tim Miller) Mullin of North Padre Island, Texas, Glenda (Dennis) Hyslop of Eustis, Nebraska, Paula Mullin of Lexington, Nebraska and Carrie Mullin of Sacramento, California; two brothers, Gerald “Jerry” Lange of Reno, Nevada and Larry Lange of North Platte, Nebraska; brother-in-law and sister-in-law, Clarence (Hallie) Judeman of Hastings, Nebraska; five grandchildren, Derek (Michelle) Mullin of Kearney, Nebraska, Nicole (Jim) Peterson of Axtell, Nebraska, Theresa (John) Benson of Cozad, Nebraska, Heather (Dan) Heinemann of Darr, Nebraska and Tyson (Amy) Richardson of Sacramento, California; fourteen great-grandchildren and two great-great grandchildren with one on the way. She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, Glen “Moon” Mullin; infant daughter, Paulette; grandson, Patrick Richardson; brothers, Gene and Junior; sisters, Norma Jean Thornburg and Lily Mae Lange; numerous brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law. Memorial Celebration of Life will be held Monday, November 20, 2017, at 10:00 a.m. at First Presbyterian Church in Lexington with Reverend Polly Deppen-Williams, officiating. There will be no visitation. Inurnment will be in Greenwood Cemetery at Lexington.
