Tyler Layne Bowden, 30, of Republican City, formerly of Sumner, died December 12, 2024 at CHI Health Good Samaritan in Kearney.
He was born on June 8, 1994 in Lexington, Nebraska to Donald and Jamie (Riley) Bowden. Tyler attended public school in Sumner, graduating from S-E-M High School with class of 2012. Following high school, Tyler enlisted in the United States Marine Corps where he proudly served his country until he was honorably discharged on January 28, 2014.
Following his discharge, Tyler moved back to Sumner where he had two beautiful daughters, Evie and Madi with Morgan Schnacker. He enjoyed being a farmhand working on various ranches.
Anyone who knew Tyler knew he was passionate about many things. His love of the outdoors, whether it be hunting or fishing, long rides on his motorcycle or spending time with his dog, Jaeger. Most of all, he enjoyed the time he spent with his daughters and his family.
It's hard to describe a person in a few words, especially a person like Tyler. Tyler had a big heart and cared deeply for his family and friends. He will be remembered for his goofy personality and his contagious laugh.
Survivors include his father, Don Bowden of Bartley; his two daughters, Evelynn and Madilynn Bowden of Elm Creek; his sisters, Courtney (Christian) Houston of Canon City, Colorado and Lacey (Adam) Rawn of Bartley; uncle, Jerry (Shawn) Riley of Lexington; as well as numerous nieces, nephews, extended family and many friends.
Tyler was preceded in death by his mother, Jamie; grandparents, aunts and uncles.
A Celebration Of Life Service will be held on Thursday, December 19, 2024 at 10:30 a.m. at the United Church of Sumner East Campus with Pastor Ken Hutson, officiating.
Burial with full military honors will follow at the Sumner Cemetery.
Memorials are suggested to the family to be sent to the United Church of Sumner, East Campus.
