Ted Ronald Pollock was born in Kansas City, Missouri on November 20, 1938 to Ted R. Pollock and Lucille Morris Pollock. He died on March 16, 2025, surrounded by his extended family in Kearney, Nebraska. He was 86 years old.

He spent his early life living on his grandparent’s farm in Kearney helping his Grandfather Myron and his uncle George. His big sister Jeanette doted on him as if he were her little baby. She would drag him along in only his diaper visiting a sweet neighbor who gave them bread spread with butter and sprinkled with sugar. She knew if she dragged him along she wouldn’t get in any trouble. He was known as Ronald to family and hated that name because of the way the family pronounced it in their midwestern drawl.

He and his mother, father and older sister moved to California during the War so that his parents could find employment in the Oakland Shipyards. He grew up in Richmond, California during the 50’s and enjoyed the music, cars, hamburgers for a nickel and Pepsi in a bottle. He loved Creedence Clearwater and many more bands of the 60’s.

He enlisted in the Air Force at the age of 17 and completed boot camp in Lackland Air Force Base in San Antonio, Texas. His service took him to Greenland where he proudly fulfilled his duties. He had many jobs throughout his life. He worked for Safeway as a manager, construction in Alaska, a painter and handy man and before retirement worked at a hospital in the maintenance department. Ted picked up many skills from his father and was a skilled carpenter.

Ted leaves behind his oldest daughter, Cassandra Pollock of Mammoth Springs, Missouri, three grandchildren Zackary, Abigail and Charlieze Price, his youngest daughter, Lindsay Pollock of Lucerne, California, a very special extended family of Cindy Walker who he loved as a daughter and a niece Heather Lenk of Redding, California. He was preceded in death by his parents Ted and Lucille Pollock, a son Richard Pollock and his sister Jeanette Lenk. Ted will be most remembered for his quick wit, a mischievous side and his love for the Morris family farm in Kearney, Nebraska. He was truly a hard working country boy at heart.

Graveside Services with Military Honors will be held on Thursday, March 20, 2025, at 2:00 p.m. at Fort McPherson National Cemetery in Maxwell, Nebraska with Pastor Paul Thomas, officiating.
