Susan Kay Murdock

Susan K. Murdock, 68, of Lexington, Nebraska passed away on Sunday, October 24, 2021 at Lexington Regional Health Center.

She was born on January 8, 1953 in Lexington, Nebraska to Otto C. and Esther E. (Haworth) Murdock. Susan attended public schools in Lexington and graduated from Lexington High School with the class of 1971.

On November 18, 1971, Susan enlisted into the United States Air Force. She served her country during the Vietnam War and was honorably discharged on May 15, 1975.

Following her discharge, Susan lived in Lincoln, Nebraska, before moving to California. She and her brother, Ron drove a small Uhaul to California and lived in the town of Sunnyvale. Susan then moved to Costa Mesa, California where she was employed with Ford Aerospace, working in computer programming. In 2005, Susan moved back to Lexington to care for her mother, Esther.

Susan enjoyed crocheting, collecting Dolls and loved her cats. She was also a huge baseball fan and was very passionate about her San Francisco Giants and Los Angeles Angels.

She is survived by her brother, Ron Murdock of Thailand; her half-brother, Tim Ogden of Lexington; sister-in-law, Dixie Ogden of Lexington and an aunt, Ruth Granger of Georgia.

Besides her parents, Susan was preceded in death by her brother, Bob Murdock; half-brother, Mike Murdock and half-sister, Pat (Bud) Deal.

A Graveside Service with Military Honors will be held on Friday, November 5, 2021 at 2:00 p.m. at Fort McPherson National Cemetery at Maxwell, Nebraska.

There will be no visitation, as the family is honoring Susan’s wish for cremation.

A memorial has been established in Susan’s honor, and kindly suggested to the family for later designation.
