Shirley A. Noble, 85 of Overton passed away Tuesday, February 2, 2021 at Emerald Nursing and Rehab in Cozad.
Shirley was born August 31, 1935 in Lexington to Tobe and Thelma (Fiedler) Brummet. She graduated from Lexington High School with the class of 1953.
Shirley was united in marriage to Dwight F. Noble on June 14, 1953 in Lexington. After marriage the couple lived in Fall Brook, California, Lexington, Gibbon, Kearney and settled in Overton in the early 1960’s. Dwight preceded her in death on January 8, 2006.
Shirley was employed for many years at Plectron in Overton and then at Davenport’s Gas Station and later at Overton Sand & Gravel as a secretary-book keeper. She also did the books for Noble Repair for many years. Shirley and Dwight were Foster parents for over 67 children. Shirley was also known to help her husband with his business by painting houses and even some roofing.
Shirley was a member of the Overton Christian Church. She enjoyed sewing, hanging wallpaper, horses, ham radio operating but most of all was very family oriented. She was a great mother to her children.
Shirley is survived by two sons; John of Omaha and Allen and wife Jan of Overton, four daughters; Barbara Holen of Overton, Kathy Gill of Overton, Tova and husband Denny Todd of Amherst , and Jennifer and husband Ray Harris of Omaha, sister-in-law; Dorothy Brummet of Crestview, Florida, grandchildren; Adam Gill, Joshua Gill, Justin Noble, Brandy (Thomas) Echavaria, Emily (Paul) Wagner, Megan (Michael) Torczon, Jessica Holen, Seth (Brenda) Noble, Ashley (Scott) Fisher, Cooper Shubert, Kathy Little Bull Holen, Tova Holen and Gavin Holen, sixteen great-grandchildren, with one on the way as well as many nieces, nephews, extended family and friends.
Shirley was preceded in death by her parents, husband, three brothers; Alan (Gene) Brummet, Neal Brummet and Robert K. Brummet as well as a granddaughter, Noel Holen.
There will be no visitation and the casket will be closed at the church.
Funeral services will be held Monday, February 8, 2021 at 10:30 a.m. at the Overton Christian Church with Pastor Will Thompson, officiating. Face coverings will be at the discretion of those attending. The service will be live streamed on the Reynolds Love Facebook page.
Interment will be In the Overton Cemetery.
Memorials are suggested to the Overton Volunteer Fire Department or the Overton Christian Church.
