Sheryl Lynne Brown, 59 of Lexington, Nebraska, passed away on Wednesday, April 23, 2025 at her home surrounded by her loving family.
She was born on June 25, 1965, in Battle Creek, Michigan, to Robert and Elberta (Naumann) Brummet. Sheryl was the fourth of four children. Her family moved extensively while Bob was in the Navy. They returned to Lexington in 1972 where Sheryl attended public schools and graduated from Lexington High School with the class of 1983. She then went on to further her education at Chadron State College for a semester.
Sheryl then moved back to Lexington where she worked at Plum Creek Care Center before moving to Virginia and worked as a Nanny. She also worked for Senator James Exon. In 1990, Sheryl moved back to Lexington and began working at Plum Creek Care Center again before taking a job at Elwood Care Center. Before her health began to fail, Sheryl worked at Plum Creek Medical Group.
Sheryl was united in marriage to Scott Brown on May 2, 1998 in Lexington at Grace Lutheran Church. She was a faithful member of Grace Lutheran and enjoyed volunteering in the church and cooking for the children.
Sheryl loved children and was a cat lover. Scott and Sheryl enjoyed riding their Harley’s and attending KISS concerts. She was known as number #4 in the family and was an avid Nebraska Husker football fan. She also enjoyed ghost hunting. Her family, church, and faith were always an important part of her life. Above all, Sheryl has left a tremendous legacy of love, and faith to her family.
Survivors include the love of her life, Scott; her siblings, Bryan (Deb) Brummet of Rapid City, South Dakota, Jeffrey (Nancy) Brummet of Lexington, and Michelle Martinez of Grand Island; sisters-in-law, Teola (Robert) Linder of Kearney and Carrie (John) McHarness of Lincoln; as well as numerous nieces, nephews, cousins, extended family and friends.
Besides her parents, Sheryl was preceded in death by her nephew, Steven.
Funeral Services will be on Tuesday, April 29, 2025 at 10:30 a.m. at Grace Lutheran Church in Lexington with Pastor John Strackbein, officiating.
Visitation will be held on Monday, April 28, 2025 from 5-7 p.m. at Reynolds-Love Funeral Home in Lexington.
Interment will be at Evergreen Cemetery in Lexington.
