Ronald Leroy King, 71, of Lexington, Nebraska, died Tuesday, April 15, 2025, at his home.
Ron was born February 5, 1954, in Reedsville, Pennsylvania, to Lloyd and Dona (Deeg) King. He graduated from Kishacoquillas High School in 1972.
After high school Ron joined the Air Force and spent time in Alaska and Oklahoma. He eventually moved to Lexington, Nebraska to work at Sperry New Holland in 1976. He met his wife Bea Lou Richardson after moving there. They were united in marriage October 8, 1977. To this union, three children were born. Ron continued to work in manufacturing for the rest of his life, until his retirement at age 65 from Orthman Manufacturing.
He enjoyed hunting, fishing, foraging, trapping, cookinganything and everything, gardening, building new things out of scrap iron (to cook, hunt, trap, garden, or fish with), music, being a leader and mentor to others, Hartley’s Potato Chips, was always reading something, and participated in many other activities. He also enjoyed watching the Penn State Nittany Lions, Nebraska Cornhuskers, and the Pittsburgh Steelers compete in sporting events.
Survivors include his children: Tucker King, Lincoln, Nebraska, Thad (Jennifer) King, Essex Junction, Vermont, Melissa (Sam) BeDunnah, Lexington, Nebraska; grandchildren: Anthony and Betty King of Lincoln, Juniper Leet, Betty and Lula King of Essex Junction, Vermont and Judah BeDunnah; one brother:Wade (Teresa) King of Reedsville, Pennsylvania, two sisters:Laura King of Dallas, Texas, and Ruth (Jim) Evans-Fultz of Bellefonte, Pennsylvania; one aunt: Irma King of Reedsville, Pennsylvania. He also had numerous other nieces, nephews, cousins, friends, and other relatives.
He was preceded in death by his wife Bea, his parents, his brother Lloyd, his wife’s parents, his wife’s brother Dave, and his dogs, Freckles and Speedy.
The family would like to thank all that took the time to call, message, visit or travel to see him, we know it meant a lot to him.
Visitation will be held on Monday, April 21, from 5-7 p.m. at Reynolds-Love Funeral Home.
Funeral services will be Tuesday, April 22, at 10:30 a.m., at Trinity Lutheran Church in Lexington, Nebraska
Burial will immediately follow at Robb Cemetery, Lexington, Nebraska, with Pastor Rob Kuefner, officiating.
Memorials are suggested to Dawson County Cancer Care Fund, Lexington Grand Generation Center, or Robb Cemetery.
