Robert H. Stern, 88 of Lexington passed away Monday, June 6, 2022 at the Cozad Community Hospital. Robert was born January 25, 1934 near Sykeston, North Dakota to Henry and Lydia (Heimbuck) Stern. He enlisted in the United States Army on August 12, 1954 and served his country until being honorably discharged on July 30, 1956. Robert spent most of his working years being a Meat Grader in various states before moving to Lexington where he worked at Cornland Dressed Beef, IBP and then Tyson, retiring in 2002. He enjoyed gardening, wood working, attending auctions but most of all traveling with his long-time companion Twila Botsford. Robert is survived by his companion, Twila Botsford of Lexington, son, Robert Kipp Stern of Sterling, Colorado, two daughters: Raleigh Stern of Billings, Montana and Kerry (John) VanDusen of Fort Collins, Colorado, one sister, Mary Lou Mutchler of Billings, Montana as well as numerous grandchildren and great-grandchildren other relatives and many friends. Robert was preceded in death by his parents and one brother and four sisters. It was Robert’s wishes to be cremated and no services are planned at this time.
