Peggy Marie Allen

January 26, 1946 — December 1, 2024

Arnold

Peggy Marie Allen, 78, of Arnold, Nebraska, passed away on Sunday, December 1, 2024, at CHI Health Good Samaritan in Kearney.

She was born on January 26, 1946, in McCook, Nebraska, to James Samuel and Eunice (Tiny)Marie (Gilliland) Allen. She attended public school in McCook, Lexington and North Platte and graduated from North Platte High School with the class of 1964.

Peggy lived in many places but always found her way back home to North Platte. Peggy attended business college in Denver to earn her business license, and after many years bartending (which she loved doing), She managed several motels and eventually apartments. She had a real knack for developing quality business plans and implementing them flawlessly. Upon moving back to Nebraska, Peggy lived with and cared for her mother until her mother’s move to a care facility in Louisville, Ne. She then spent the rest of her time in Custer County, Ne.

Peggy worked until the age of 75, her last job being in Broken Bow as a CNA/Med Aide at Custer Care where she grew close to several residents. Upon her retirement, having been living with Roger and Wendy, she too moved with them to Arnold where she began attending Senior Life Solutions- she found her groove again and moved to Callaway Grand Generation Manor to be closer to her new circle of friends. Peggy was always known as a hard worker and loved reading anything she could with her library of books always growing. She enjoyed staying in touch with her girlfriends from high school, especially with her friends, Cheryl Peters, Carmen Scott, Barb Segur and Pam Day.

It was her Senior Life Solutions class and the friends she made there that brought her back to life and helped her gain her independence and courage to once again live on her own since her stroke in 2020. Peggy adored her children and grand and great grandchildren more than anything in the world and loved spending as much time with them as she could. Also at the top of her favorites were the daily calls with daughter Leesa and Son Bradley, she lived for those calls.

Those left to cherish her memory are her Children: Bradley (Michelle) Tatman of Arizona; Aleesa (Roger) Zimbleman of Wisconsin; and Wendy (Roger Hodge) Holliday, of Arnold, Nebraska. A Brother, Samuel James (Mary) Allen of Omaha. Grandchildren, Ashley Tate of Canada, Jake Zimbleman, Skylar Holliday, Katie Matthews, Seth Zimbleman, Shane Tatman, and Megan Tatman; and Great grandchildren-Jaiden, Luis, Zalaya, Keon, Alexander, Juveni, Zakyia, and Forever, as well as extended family and many friends.

Peggy was preceded in death by her grandparents, Billy and Fern Gilliland, and parents, James and Eunice (Tiny)Allen (Anderson) and stepfather Wayne (Andy) Anderson
