Patricia "Pat" Ann Goldsmith

March 25, 1948 — April 27, 2018

Patricia Ann (Hemmer) Goldsmith, 70, of Lexington, Nebraska went home to be with the Lord on April 27, 2018 at her home in Lexington. She was born on March 25, 1948 in Monticello, Iowa to Helen Wolf Hemmer & Edwin Hemmer. On July 1, 1967 she married Marvin Goldsmith in Monticello and their life’s adventures began together. They moved several times before settling in Thornton, Colorado to raise their children.  In 1995 they moved to Lexington, Nebraska where they ran a bed & breakfast and antique shop.  They later moved out to “the farm” and together ran Memories Antiques.   They met many wonderful friends along the way in their antiquing business.  No matter where they lived, they kept an open heart and open door for all.   She treasured spending time with her kids and grandkids (who refer to her as their “Bonga”), the Denver Broncos, camping trips, sitting around the fire, and visits back home to Iowa. She truly found joy in the simple things in life and never took a day for granted.   She was devout in her Catholic faith and that carried her through her 8.5 year journey with cancer.  She was filled to the brim with faith & perseverance and was a true warrior.   She is preceded in death by her beloved daughter Stephanie Howland, beloved mother Helen Hemmer, mother-in-law Dorothy Goldsmith, father-in-law Glen Goldsmith and his second wife Rosemary Goldsmith, and brother-in-law Gary Sampson. She is survived by her husband of 50 years, Marvin Goldsmith of Lexington, sons Gregory (Marcia) of Henderson, CO, Jeffrey (Sarah) of Great Falls, MT, son-in-law Mike of Fort Collins, CO. Also by 6 granddaughters, LaRae Patricia, Alisha, Desiree, Madelyn Ann, Olivia Patricia, Isabella, and by her favorite grandson, John.  She is survived by her sisters, Sandi Sampson and Sue (Andy) Ballou of Monticello, sister-in-laws, Sue (Stan) Burrichter, Glenda (Don) Eilers, brother-in-law, Ed (Connie) Goldsmith, all of Monticello, sister-in-laws, Charlie (Brian) Maternach of Coralville, Kathy (Al) Wulfekuhle of Quasqueeton, all of Iowa. In addition, are her many godchildren, nephews, and nieces. When talking about her final days she told us, “The greatest gifts that came from my life are my 3 children and all that came from them and all that they gave me.” As much as we will all miss her, we are comforted knowing she is now with Stephanie in a glorious heavenly reunion.  “I have fought the good fight, I have finished the race, I have kept the faith.” 2 Timothy 4:7. A Rosary will be held on Wednesday, May 2 at 7:00 p.m. at Reynolds-Love Funeral Home in Lexington, Nebraska. The family will receive people at 6pm.  The funeral and burial mass will be at a later date in Monticello, Iowa. Reynolds-Love Funeral Home in Lexington is honored to be assisting the family with arrangements. Please share online condolences with the family by visiting: reynoldslovefuneralhome.com
