Nick Ray Rodriguez, Sr., age 54, of Holdrege, Nebraska, formerly of Lexington passed away on Tuesday, December 8, 2020 at Overland Park Regional Medical Center in Overland Park, Kansas.
He was born on December 26, 1965 to Anastacio and Estella (Martinez) Rodriguez in Temple, Texas. Nick had five children: Vincent, Beatriz, Nikki, Nick and Cristo. He grew up in Texas and lived there until 1989 when he moved to Nebraska, which he has lived for the past thirty two years until his passing.
Nick worked for several companies including Tyson and Shotkoski Hay Company, which he thoroughly enjoyed.
Nick loved working, spending time with his children, grandchildren and family. He enjoyed going fishing and loved hanging out in the sun with his best friend and brother, Adam. They enjoyed driving their Jeeps around town.
He was a very respectful and kind person. He was a jokester and would always look forward to carrying on a conversation with everyone, especially his children, nieces and nephews. Most of all, his family was the most important thing to him.
Survivors include his children, Vincent Rodriguez of Colorado, Beatriz Delafunete (Rene Romero) of Lexington, Vincent Rodriguez of Marion, South Dakota, Nikki (Julio) Ruiz of Marion South Dakota, Nick Rodriguez, Jr., of Hurly, South Dakota and Cristo Rodriguez (Tasha Perez) of Hurley, South Dakota; mother of his children, Maritza Barrios of Parkston, South Dakota; his grandchildren, Luna, Viviana, Paysleigh and Isabella; his brothers and sisters, Adam Rodriguez of Holdrege, Anastacio Rodriguez of Holdrege, Angelita Rodriguez (Angel Figueroa) of Holdrege, Rosalinda Perez of Lexington and Lynn Rodriguez of Omaha; also survived by nieces and nephews, Nick Rodriguez, Lloyd, Ramon, Gabe, Jasmine, Marlene, Maria, Lucy, Mary Heather, Estella, Daisy, Rachel, Tatiana, Baltazar, Mardo, Gonzalo, Esther, Sergio, Tasha, Jose, Aarron, Ruth and Yenmi and two cousins, Domingo and Ana.
Nick was preceded in death by his parents and two sisters, Beatrice Rodriguez and Barbara Diaz Rodriguez.
Mass Of Christian Burial will be on Tuesday, December 15, 2020 at 10:00 a.m. at St. Ann’s Catholic Church in Lexington with Father Jose Chavez, officiating. The Mass will be live-streamed via Reynolds-Love Funeral Home Facebook page.
Face coverings will be required to enter.
Visitation will be held on Monday, December 14, 2020 from 1-5 p.m. at Reynolds-Love Funeral Home in Lexington with a Rosary to follow at 6:00 p.m. at St. Ann’s Catholic Church.
Interment will take place in Willow Island Cemetery at Willow Island.
Memorials are kindly suggested to the family for later designation.
