Naomi Marie Workman, 91, of Lexington, Nebraska, passed away Monday, December 25, 2017, at Plum Creek Healthcare Community in Lexington. She was born March 29, 1926, in Eddyville, Nebraska, to George and Cloie (Henry) Henderson. She grew up and attended school in the Lexington area through the 12th grade. Naomi was united in marriage to Robert Martin Workman on December 5, 1952. Four daughters were blessed to this marriage; Jane, Bobbie, Nancy, and Susan. Naomi was involved in many community activities. She was a member of the VFW Auxiliary, Hospital Auxiliary, and enjoyed a weekly Bridge Club. She also loved golfing, and reading. She had a wonderful sense of humor, she loved having the girls’ friends over to the house when they were in school, and always made everyone feel so welcome. Naomi was a long time member of the First United Methodist Church in Lexington. Naomi is survived by her daughters; Jane (John) Kirby of Johnson Lake, Nebraska, Bobbie (Wayne) Hubbard of Overton, Nebraska; and Nancy (Johnnie) Slack of Gothenburg, Nebraska; four grandchildren; Jeremy (Holly) Kirby of Elkhorn, Nebraska, Roy Slack of Lincoln, Nebraska, Mike (Samantha) Hubbard of Overton, Nebraska, and Aimmie Barner of Overton, Nebraska; seven great-grandchildren; Rian, Regan, Dylan, Lauren, Hadleigh, Alex, and Morgan; also surviving are nieces, nephews, and dear friends. Naomi was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Robert in 1996; daughter, Susan Workman; sister, Freda Hofferber; two brothers-in-law, Benton Hofferber, and Wayne Low; and infant brother, William. It was Naomi’s wishes that her body be cremated. A Memorial Celebration of Life will be held Friday, March 30, 2018, at 2:00 p.m. at Fort McPherson National Cemetery at Maxwell, Nebraska with Reverend Anne Gahn officiating.
