Martha V. Honeywell, 78, formerly of Shelton and Sutherland, Nebraska, passed away on Sunday, October 27, 2024, at Linden Court in North Platte, surrounded by her loving family.
She was born on October 9, 1946, in Lexington, Nebraska to Frederick and Velma (Brown) Lammers. She spent her childhood in Overton and graduated from Overton High School with the class of 1964. She was united in marriage to Verne Honeywell in 1966 in Lexington and two children were born to this union. Their marriage would later end in divorce. In 2008, Martha moved to Grand Island before making her home in Sutherland in 2012.
Martha will be remembered for her love of God and family as well as her strong work-ethic. Martha was a dedicated employee of nearly 30 years for Walmart, where she worked in various departments. She treasured the time she spent with her grandkids and was extremely proud of each of them. Martha was an excellent seamstress and a lover of fabric. She spent many hours working meticulously on many projects from crafts to quilts. She was also a member of the Patchwork Gals in Sutherland.
Those left to cherish her memory is her children, Richard (Annette) Honeywell of North Platte, and Vicky (William) Dowse of Sutherland; grandchildren, William (Elizabeth) Dowse II of Kearney, Andrew Dowse of Lincoln, and Aaron Vanderford of Seale, Alabama; sister, Margaruite (Dick) Brand of Loomis; sister-in-law, Sharon Lammers of Overton, as well as extended family and friends.
Besides her parents, she was preceded in death by her brother, Melvin Lammers.
Memorial Services will be held on Saturday, November 16, 2024, at 10:30 a.m. at Reynolds-Love Funeral Home with Lay Minister, Sarah Neben, officiating.
Inurnment will be held at the Overton Cemetery in Overton.
