Kristen Lanae Nelson

Kristen Lanae Nelson, age 53, of Curtis, formerly of Lexington, passed away Friday, September 23, 2022 at CHI Health Good Samaritan in Kearney.

Kristen was born on June 4, 1969, in Lexington, Nebraska to Harley and Sharon (Jones) Nelson. She grew up in Elwood, Nebraska and graduated from Elwood High School with the class of 1987.

Kristen would go on to study journalism for a year at Nebraska Wesleyan University before moving to Nashville, Tennessee. She spent ten years living in Nashville and working at Nashville Fan fair and for the Republican Party before moving back to Lexington, Nebraska. Once in Lexington, Kristen worked at Tri-County Hospital for five years before moving to Holbrook to start working for the Cambridge Hospital where she eventually retired due to her health. Kristen enjoyed knitting and absolutely loved her four dogs: Molly, Annie, Bella and Macy.

Kristen is preceded in death by her parents and sister, Stacey.

Survivors include her aunts, Vickey (Frank) Koehn of Johnson Lake, Nebraska and Linda Jones of Elwood, Nebraska; her uncle Brad (Bernadette) Jones of Kearney, Nebraska as well as numerous cousins, extended family and friends.

Memorials are kindly suggested to the family for later designation.
