Kenneth D. Arp, Sr., 93, of Lexington passed away Tuesday, December 24, 2019 at the Plum Creek Care Center in Lexington. Ken was born February 3, 1926 in Upland, Nebraska to Clarence and Margaret (Johnson) Arp. He attended Overton High School. Ken was united in marriage to Ramona Volkmer on July 2, 1963 in Sidney, Nebraska. She preceded him in death on October 10, 2000. Ken worked the land as a land leveler his entire working life. He came to central Nebraska to work on the interstate and had worked on many local projects. He was employed by Joel German Construction and later Roger Hood Construction. Ken was very active in the LexChristian Church in Lexington where he served as a deacon and a board member during the construction of the new church. Ken was also an avid gardener. Kenneth is survived by two sons: Scott Arp of Minden, Nebraska and Arian Arp of Lexington; three daughters: Daphne Burris of Spring,Texas , Barbara Handeland of Grand Island, Nebraska and Linda and husband Ricky Grubb of Holly Ridge, South Carolina; nine grandchildren, twelve great-grandchildren and five great-great-grandchildren. Ken is preceded in death by his parents, wife, two sons: Daniel and Kenneth Arp, Jr., two brothers: Wesley and Glenn and a daughter-in-law, Marla Arp. Funeral services will be held Tuesday, December 31, 2019 at 10:30 a.m. at the LexChristian Church in Lexington with Pastor Daniel Sauer, officiating. Visitation will be held Monday, December 30, 2019 from 5-7 p.m. at Reynolds-Love Funeral Home in Lexington. Interment will be in the Evergreen Cemetery east of Lexington.
