Keith James Cook, 96, of Brighton, Tennessee, passed away on November 17, 2022, at his grandson’s home in Brighton, Tennessee.
Keith was born January 5, 1926, southwest of Litchfield, NE, in Custer County on a farm. He attended school in that area until he was called to World War II where he served to the end. When he came home, he later married Lourenia E. Van Matre on November 7, 1948. To this union were born 3 children: 2 daughters and 1 son. From there they moved out east and then to Chula Vista, California. From there he left for sea duty for the Korean conflict. At the beginning of the Vietnam conflict they moved to Escondido, California and there they stayed while he served in the Gulf of Tonken at Vietnam until retiring in 1970.
Keith was united in marriage to Josephine Beale in 2004 and she preceded him in death in 2014.
He leaves to mourn a son Keith, seven grandchildren, and eight great grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by two daughters; Joyce and Lowenn and two wives; Lourenia and Josephine.
Visitation will be held Thursday, December 1, 2022 from 10:00 until noon at Reynolds-Love Funeral Home in Lexington.
A graveside service will follow at 2:00 p.m. at the Litchfield Cemetery in Litchfield, Nebraska with Pastor Dave Leraaen, officiating.
