Jovanny Gandara, 15, of Lexington, Nebraska passed away on Saturday, January 2, 2021 at Lexington Regional Health Center.
Jovanny was born February 4, 2005 in Lexington, Nebraska to Angel and Ana Secilia (Villalobos) Gandara. He attended preschool at Tyson before going to the Lexington Early Learning Academy. He then attended Morton Elementary and Lexington Middle School. Jovanny was a sophomore at the Lexington High School where he was active in the Wrestling program. He also participated in the band while he was in the Lexington Middle School.
Jovanny had a contagious smile that would light up a room. He was energetic, loving and very outgoing. He loved playing his guitar and spending time with his friends. He enjoyed swimming, riding motorcycles and just being an active teenager.
Jovanny was a member of St. Ann’s Catholic Church and has his first communion in 2013.
Survivors include his parents, Angel and Ana Secilia Gandara of Lexington; his brothers, Ariel, Josue, Sebastian and Valentin all of Lexington; his grandparents, Gustavo (Camerina) Gandara of Lexington and Maria Guadalupe (Rafael) Villalobos of Lexington; aunts and uncles, Efrain Gandara of Lexington, Gustavo (Carina) Gandara of Lewis, Kansas, Rafael (Miriam) Villalobos of Lexington, Hector Villalobos of Lexington, Luis Villalobos of Indianapolis, Indiana, Fernando Villalobos of Lexington and Cata (Luis) Archila of Lexington; as well as numerous cousins, extended family and many, many friends.
Mass of Christian Burial will be on Saturday, January 9, 2021 at 10:00 a.m. at St. Ann’s Catholic Church with Father Jose Chavez, officiating. The Mass will be live-streamed via the Reynolds-Love Funeral Home Facebook page.
Visitation will be held on Friday, January 8, 2021 from 4-9 p.m. at St. Ann’s Catholic Church. The casket will be closed.
Rosary will be on Friday, January 8, 2020 at 7:00 p.m. at St. Ann’s Catholic Church.
Face covering will be required at the church.
Interment will be in St. Ann’s Catholic Cemetery at Lexington following the Mass.
Memorials are kindly suggested to the family for later designation.
