José Manuel Rivas González, de 55 años, de Lexington, falleció el sábado 27 de julio de 2024 en el Centro de Salud Regional de Lexington rodeado de su amada familia. 

Nació el 21 de marzo de 1969, en Tepetongo, Zacatecas, hijo de Francisco Rivas y Michaela González. Cuando José cumplió diecisiete años, se mudó a Baldwin Park, California, donde pasó muchos años trabajando en varios restaurantes. En 1992, se mudó a Lexington, donde dedicó 32 años trabajando para IBP, más tarde conocido como Tyson Fresh Meats. El 16 de enero de 1993, José se unió en matrimonio a través de la iglesia al amor de su vida, Juanita Jiménez en México. La familia fue bendecida con cinco hijos: Jose Jr., Gustavo, Stacey, Manuel Alejandro, y Michelle.

José era un hombre de familia, a quien le encantaba pasar tiempo con su esposa y hijos, viajando a varios lugares. Disfrutaba vestirse y disfrutar de sus fines de semana, asar a la parrilla y escuchar corridos. Era conocido como un hombre trabajador que le gustaba mantener sus manos ocupadas. Si no estaba en el trabajo, estaba trabajando en su camióneta, o cuidando su jardín. José era un católico devoto, que tenía un corazón amable y puro. Su fe le ayudó a soportar y perseverar durante algunos de los momentos más difíciles de su vida. Siempre se aseguraba de ir a la iglesia todos los domingos y orar por la salud y seguridad de los demás. Fue un esposo y padre increíble, a quien extrañaremos mucho

Los que quedan para apreciar su legado son su amada esposa, Juanita Jiménez de Rivas de Lexington; padre, Francisco Rivas de México; hijos, José Rivas Jr. de Grand Island, Gustavo Rivas de Lexington, Stacey (Félix Batista) Rivas de Lexington, Manuel Alejandro Rivas de Lexington, y Michelle Rivas de Lexington; nietos, Ashley Rivas, Gianni Rivas, Angel Rivas, Valerie Rivas, y Chris Rivas; hermanos, Alejandro Rivas, Simón Rivas, y Francisco Rivas, todo de Lexington; hermanas, Graciela Rivas, Nacha Rivas, Rosa Rivas y Alicia Rivas, así como muchas sobrinas, sobrinos, familiares y amigos. 

La Misa de Entierro Cristiano se llevará a cabo el viernes 2 de agosto de 2024, a las 2:00 p.m. en la Iglesia Católica de Santa Ana en Lexington con el Padre José Chávez, oficiando.

 El entierro de se llevará a cabo en el cementerio católico de Santa Ana en Lexington.

 El Rosario de se llevará a cabo el jueves 1 de agosto de 2024, a las 7:00 p.m. en la funeraria Reynolds-Love en Lexington con una Visitación Privada que se llevará a cabo antes del servicio.

Jose Manuel Rivas Gonzalez, 55, of Lexington, passed away on Saturday, July 27, 2024, at Lexington Regional Health Center surrounded by his loving family.

He was born on March 21, 1969, in Tepetongo, Zacatecas, to Francisco Rivas and Michaela Gonzalez. When Jose turned seventeen, he moved to Baldwin Park, California where he spent many years working at various restaurants. In 1992, he moved to Lexington, where he dedicated 32 years working for IBP, later known as Tyson Fresh Meats. On January 16, 1993, Jose was united in marriage through the church to the love of his life, Juanita Jimenez in Mexico. The family was blessed with five children: Jose Jr., Gustavo, Stacey, Manuel Alejandro, and Michelle.

Jose was a family man, who loved spending time with his wife and children, traveling to different places. He enjoyed getting dressed up and enjoying his weekends, grilling and listening to spanish corridos. He was known as a hardworking man who liked to keep his hands busy. If he wasn't at work, he was working on his truck, or tending to his garden. Jose was a devout catholic, who had a kind and pure heart. His faith helped him endure and persevere during some of the toughest moments in his life. He always made sure he went to church every Sunday and prayed for the health and safety of others. He was an amazing husband and father, who will be greatly missed.

Those left to cherish his legacy is his loving wife, Juanita Jimenez de Rivas of Lexington; father, Francisco Rivas of Mexico; children, Jose Rivas Jr. of Grand Island, Gustavo Rivas of Lexington, Stacey (Felix Batista) Rivas of Lexington, Manuel Alejandro Rivas of Lexington, and Michelle Rivas of Lexington; grandchildren, Ashley Rivas, Gianni Rivas, Angel Rivas, Valerie Rivas, and Chris Rivas; brothers, Alejandro Rivas, Simon Rivas, and Francisco Rivas, all of Lexington; sisters, Graciela Rivas, Nacha Rivas, Rosa Rivas and Alicia Rivas, as well as many nieces, nephews, extended family and friends.

Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Friday, August 2, 2024, at 2:00 p.m. at St. Ann's Catholic Church in Lexington with Father Jose Chavez, officiating.

Burial will be held at St. Ann's Catholic Cemetery in Lexington.

Rosary will be held on Thursday, August 1, 2024, at 7:00 p.m. at Reynolds-Love Funeral home in Lexington with a Private Family Visitation to be held prior to the service.

Memorials are kindly suggested to the family for later designation.
