John P. Maloley, 93 of Lexington, passed away at CHI Health Good Samaritan Hospital in Kearney on Sunday, March 30th, 2025. 

John was born on March 27, 1932 in Lexington Nebraska to George and Mary Maloley as one of 12 children, 8 boys and 4 girls. He spent his life growing up working on the family farm east of Lexington. He spent those years working hard to give all he could to his family yet enjoying the love and laughter of his siblings, nieces and nephews.

He eventually met the love of his life, Mary Maloley. After twelve years of dating, they were united in marriage on February 27, 1974, in Melbourne Australia. They then moved to Lexington, Nebraska in June of 1974 where two children were blessed to this union, John and Amanda. In his spare time John enjoyed gardening and being out and about the Lexington community laughing and conversing with family and friends, yet being willing to drop everything he was doing to help family or friends in need.

John leaves to celebrate his life, son, John(Candi) Maloley of McKinney, TX and daughter Amanda Maloley of Orlando, FL along with his beloved grandchildren, Alexander John Maloley and Collin Steel Maloley, brother, Joe (Linda) Maloley of Omaha, sister-in-law, Joyce Spellman of Minden, as well as many nieces and nephews.

John was preceded in death by his beloved wife, Mary. Brothers Shibble, Faud, Nimir, Toffie, Zickie and Andy ; Sisters Leenda Liakos, Victoria Salem and Sadie Malooley, infant sister Esther; Sisters-in-law Bonnie, Wanda, Virginia and Lorannie; Brothers-in-law Abdou Salem, Ed Malooley and John Liakos; Nephew Jayson Maloley, Niece Josie Awtry; Cousins Esa, Anthony, Fay and George Maloley.

Funeral Services will be on Friday, April 4, 2025 at 10:30 a.m. at St. George Orthodox Christian Church in Kearney with Father Christopher Morris, officiating. The Service will be live-streamed via the Reynolds-Love Funeral Home Facebook page.

There will be a Trisagion Prayer Service on Thursday, April 3, 2025 at 5:00 p.m. with a visitation to follow until 7:00 p.m. at Reynolds-Love Funeral Home in Lexington.

Following the meal, burial will take place at Greenwood Cemetery in Lexington.

In lieu of flowers, memorials are kindly suggested to the St. George Orthodox Christian Church in Kearney.
