Jazmin Love Perez-Young, 17, of Lexington, Nebraska passed away after a courageous battle with cancer with her family by her side on Tuesday, November 16, 2021 at Nebraska Children’s Hospital and Medical Center in Omaha.
She was born on February 18, 2004, in Lexington, Nebraska to Stephanie Dawn Young. She received her primary education from Lexington Public Schools, attending Morton and Pershing Elementary and then attended Lexington Middle School before being a senior at the Lexington High School with the class of 2022.
Jazmin adored her niece and nephew and enjoyed spending time with her family, especially her two brothers and friends. She had a sassy side with attitude and was a proud woman, but she also had a contagious smile and a heart of gold. She enjoyed listening to music, was very talented at drawing, was an avid Pittsburgh Steelers fan and loved her cat, Dior. Jazmin loved deeply and was loved even more. She will be missed dearly by many.
Survivors include her mother, Stephanie Chavez of Lexington; her brothers, Erique (Dulce Flores) Perez-Young of Lexington and Nestor Perez-Young of Lexington; her niece, Kiara and nephew, Kalani both of Lexington; as well as numerous aunts, uncles, cousins, extended family and many, many friends.
Jazmin was preceded in death by her grandmother, Connie Young.
A Celebration Of Life Service will be on Tuesday, November 23, 2021 at 2:00 p.m. at Reynolds-Love Funeral Home in Lexington with Chaplain Sarah James, officiating.
Visitation will be held on Monday, November 22, 2021 from 5-7 p.m. at Reynolds-Love Funeral Home in Lexington.
Cremation will take place following the Celebration of Life Service.
A memorial has been established in Jazmin’s honor, and kindly suggested to the family for later designation.
