Jared M. Shinpaugh, 32, of Lexington, Nebraska, passed away on Sunday, January 16, 2022 at CHI Health Good Samaritan Hospital in Kearney.
He was born on January 8, 1990, in Phoenix, Arizona and raised by his parents, Jacqueline (Shinpaugh) and Jose Luis Garcia. His family moved to Lexington in 2001, where Jared attended Morton Elementary before attending Lexington Middle School and High School.
Following High School, Jared worked for a Roofing company and worked for Tilley Sprinkler Systems & Landscaping. He enjoyed working with his hands and being outdoors.
Those who knew Jared can attest to his senses of humor; he loved to make people laugh. He loved to Barbeque, fishing, and spending with his family and friends. He was kindhearted and had a selfless soul. He will never be forgotten, peace be to his memory.
Survivors include his parents, Jose Luis (Jacqueline) Garcia of Lexington; siblings, Joseph Garcia of Lexington, Veronica Garcia of Grand Island, Vanessa Garcia of Hastings and Jesse Garcia of Kearney; son, Manuel Romero of Grand Island; nieces and nephews, Anahii Garcia of Lexington, Jennica and Avery Lopez of Grand Island, Sophia and Darey Rocha of Hastings and Mila Garcia of Kearney; aunts, Virginia Arberry of Texas, Ninfa Medina of Phoenix, Arizona, Stephanie (Charlie) Smith of California, Veronica (Mario) Nevarez of California and Tammy Shinpaugh of California; Uncle, Carlos (Sandra) Garcia of Lexington; grandmothers, Norma Cuevas of California and Antonia Munoz of Lexington; as well as cousins, extended family and many, many friends.
Jared was preceded in death by his grandfathers, Jack Shinpaugh and Candelario Garcia; great-grandmother, Virginia Cuevas; uncle, A.J. Arberry; aunt, Robin Noble and a cousin, Adrian Medina.
Mass Of Christian Burial will be on Friday, January 21, 2022 at 5:00 p.m. at Reynolds-Love Funeral Home in Lexington with Father Jose Chavez, officiating. The Mass will be live-streamed via the Reynolds-Love Funeral Home Facebook page.
Visitation will be held on Friday, January 21, 2022 from 1-5 p.m. at Reynolds-Love Funeral Home in Lexington.
Following the Mass, cremation will be take place and burial will be held at a later date at St. Ann’s Catholic Cemetery in Lexington.
Memorials are kindly suggested to the family for later designation.
