Janice Mae Streit

Janice Mae Streit, 85 of Overton, Nebraska passed away Friday, November 26, 2021 at the Plum Creek Care Center in Lexington.

Janice was born March 8, 1936 in Tekamah, Nebraska to Fred F. and Edith E. (Everheart) Dickson. She attended school in Overton and graduated with the class of 1954. After graduation Janice worked as a dental assistance for Dr Sayles in Overton.

On April 29, 1957 she was united in marriage to Larry S Streit at the Holy Rosary Catholic Church in Overton. To this union eight children were born.

Janice, was a stay at home mother, who loved her family, and loved her many animals, Sandy and Lady and her pet cow, named Waunita, to name a few. She loved sewing , painting and found a new interest in Genealogy. Janice loved living the farm life.

She was a member of the Holy Rosary Catholic Church in Overton.

Janice is survived by her Children: son, Mark Streit of Overton, Nebraska and his children, Ashley (Andrew) Schroeder and Caitlin (Lee) James of Lincoln, Nebraska and Ryan Streit of Kearney; daughter, Lori (Jeff) Davis of Lexington, Nebraska and their children, Brett (Kayla) Davis and their children, of Lexington, Nebraska, and Broch Davis of Lexington, Nebraska; son, Joe (Patti) Streit of Kearney, Nebraska, and their children, Connor and Jordan of Kearney; daughter, Lisa (Dean) Hawkinson of Falcon, Colorado, and their children, Emily (Will) Hawkinson of Colorado Springs, CO. and Nathan; daughter, Linda (Pat) Patsios of Kearney, Nebraska, and their children, Trevor (Bre) of Hanson ,NE. and McKenna; daughter, Melanie (Troy) Feikert of Kearney, Nebraska and their children, Eric (Viktoria) Feikert of Omaha, Nebraska and Michaela (Steven) Morris of Lavista, Nebraska; daughter, Amy Dolan (Lance Giugler) of Kearney, Nebraska and her children, Matthew and Mitchell of Gibbon, Nebraska; Great Grandchildren; Autumn Davis, Micah Davis, Jayla, Dayna and Rhys Hawkinson, one sister; Diane (Frank) Smutny of Grand Island, NE. Numerous nieces, nephews extended family and friends.

Janice is preceded in death by her parents, husband; Larry, son; Mike and son-in-law, Mark Dolan.

Visitation will be held Tuesday, November 30, 2021 from 5-7 p.m. at the Holy Rosary Catholic Church in Overton. A Rosary will follow at 7:00 p.m.

Mass of Christian Burial will be Wednesday, December 1, 2021 at 10:00 a.m. at the Holy Rosary Catholic Church in Overton with Father Jose Chavez, officiating.

Interment will be in Elm Creek Catholic Cemetery in Elm Creek.

Memorials are suggested to the family for later designation.
