Jacqueline "Jackie" J. Perkins, 90, of St. Charles, Missouri, formerly of Johnson Lake, Nebraska, passed away on Saturday, January 25, 2025, at the Landing of O'Fallon Assisted Living in St. Charles, Missouri.
She was born on September 1, 1934, in North Platte, Nebraska, to Alva and Mabel (Hinton) Hagadorn. She graduated from Curtis High School with the class of 1952. Jackie then graduated from the University of Nebraska-Lincoln with the class of 1956. She also attended the Colorado Women's College in Denver, Colorado.
Jackie spent many years working in advertising sales for the Tri-City Tribune, where she excelled. Her favorite part of her job was getting to visit with coworkers and businesses, making many friends along the way. On May 24, 1985, she was united in marriage to Harry Perkins in Grand Island. They lived at Johnson Lake and together, they shared interests in Nebraska athletics, boating, golfing, and gardening. Jackie and Harry were animal lovers and adopted many cats throughout the years. Many of the cats they took in had long been abandoned and were now given a second chance at a great life. She also spent many years volunteering at the Kearney Animal Shelter. Jackie was also an artist, painting beautiful landscapes on canvas.
Survivors include her sons, Todd (Marcie) Barnes of Weldon Spring, Missouri, and Michael (Donna) Barnes of Lincoln, Nebraska; grandchildren, Lindsay, Chris, Brandon, Kaylyn, and Blake; four great-grandchildren, as well as extended family and friends.
Besides her parents, Jackie was preceded in death by her husband, Harry Perkins.
Cremation has taken place.
Burial will be held at a later date at the Missouri Veterans Cemetery - Fort Leonard Wood in Waynesville, Missouri.
