Frances "Fran" Elaine Hofferber

Frances “Fran” Elaine Hofferber, 70, of Kearney, Nebraska formerly of Lexington, passed away Saturday, January 2, 2021 at her home in Kearney.

Fran was born August 27, 1950 in McCook, Nebraska to Harold “Wilbur” and Goldie (Dillan) Conner. She graduated from Wilsonville High school with the class of 1968. After graduation she attended the Grand Island School of Business.

Fran was united to marriage to William “Bill” Hofferber on July 1, 1977 at the First United Methodist Church in Lexington.

The couple made Lexington their home before moving to Kearney a couple of years ago.

Fran worked for a bank in Lexington as well as a couple of insurance agencies.

Fran enjoyed quilting, baking, playing cards, the Colorado Rocky Mountains, vacationing in Cancun, walking on the white sand beaches looking for seashells and wintering in Texas.

Fran is survived by her husband; Bill of Kearney, two daughters; Shawney (Eric Neslen) Wellmann of Cozad and Shannon (Blaine) Woodard of Fountain, Colorado, stepchildren; Jeffery (Kali) Hofferber of Ft. Worth, Texas, Tom (Carlianne) Hofferber of Waco, Texas, Traci (John) Contreras of Atchinson, Kansas, grandchildren; Shad (Ryan) Wellmann of Cozad, Shaley Wellmann, of Lincoln, Shania Wellmann of Lexington, Kamden Wellmann of Cozad, Allyson Blum and Chaise Mitchell, seven step-grandchildren, four step-great-grandchildren, sister; Lois (Dennis) VanDusen of Kearney, sisters-in-law; Melba Conner of New Braunfels, Texas and Georgia Speak of Kearney, brother, Richard Conner of Phillipsburg, Kansas, as well as many nieces, nephews extended family and many friends.

Fran was preceded in death by her parents, grandson; Ethan Wellmann, brothers; Dale Conner, Darrel Conner and Dean Conner, brothers-in-law; Gary Hofferber, Don and wife Betty Hofferber and Bill Speak, as well as aunts and uncles.

A book signing with the family present will be held Friday, January 8, 2021 from 5-7p.m. at the Reynolds-Love Funeral Home in Lexington.

A celebration of life will be held Saturday, January 9, 2021 at 2:00 p.m. at the Reynolds-Love Funeral Home in Lexington with Pastor Steve Shanno, officiating. Face covering are suggested. The service will be live streamed via the Reynolds Love Facebook page.

Inurnment will be held at a later date in the Greenwood Cemetery at Lexington.

Memorials in lieu of flowers are suggested to the family for a later designation.
