Fermin Solache Reyes, 75, of Lexington, Nebraska passed away on Thursday, May 29, 2020 at CHI Health Good Samaritan Hospital in Kearney. Fermin was born on June 7, 1944, in Atlixtac, Guerrero, Mexico to Francisco and Porfiria (Reyes) Solache. He started working at a young age and moved to Idaho and then Nevada working in the fields. He was united in marriage to Antonia Tellez in 1963 in Mexico and to this union eight children were born: Domitilo, Carmen, Irma, Guillermina, Cristina, Refugio, Heriberto and Lorenza. In 1992, Fermin moved his family to Lexington, Nebraska where he worked at I.B.P. now Tyson in Processing. Due to his health he retired from the plant in 2012. Fermin was a faithful member of St. Ann’s Catholic Church in Lexington. He enjoyed listening to music, watching television, playing Bingo scratch off tickets and working in the garden. He was a kind, gentle man with an infectious smile who loved spending time with his children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Survivors include his wife, Antonia of Lexington; children, Domitilo (Teresa Marquez) Solache, Carmen (Juvencio) Sandoval, Irma (Vinh) Nguyen, Guillermina (Pedro Vargas), Cristina (Francisco) Solache, Refugio (Sandy Alva) and Lorenza (Mario Garcia) all of Lexington; twenty grandchildren and twenty six great-grandchildren; two brothers and three sisters; as well as numerous nieces, nephews, cousins, extended family and many friends. Fermin was preceded in death by his parents; son, Heriberto “Herbie” and two brothers. Visitation will be held on Tuesday, June 2, 2020 from 4-7 p.m. at Reynolds-Love Funeral Home in Lexington with a Rosary to follow at 7:00 p.m. Mass Of Christian Burial will be on Wednesday, June 3, 2020 at 11:00 a.m. at St. Ann’s Catholic Church with Father Matt Koperski, officiating. Due to the COVID-19 restrictions, we will adhere to members of a household who live together may be seated together, but maintain six feet of a part of social distance from other parties. Following the Traditional Funeral Service, Cremation will take place and burial will be held at a later date. Memorials are suggested to the family for later designation.
