Elizabeth “Betty” C. Juel, 85 of Lexington passed away Friday July 5, 2019 at the Plum Creek Health Care Community. Betty was born June 23, 1934 in Lexington, Nebraska to Fred and Lucille (Ashley) Sanks. Betty graduated from Lexington High School with the class of 1952. She had lived almost her entire life in Lexington other than a move to Ohio that was only for a year in the 1950’s. She was united in marriage to Wilfred “Bill” Juel on June 23, 1952. He preceded her in death on August 19, 1992. Betty was very active in the LexChrsitian Church. She taught Sunday school, helped in the nursery, helped in the kitchen for many funeral dinners and served on numerous church committees. She also was active in the weekly Bible studies and was a past Brownie leader. She enjoyed crocheting and was an avid reader. Betty is survived by three grandchildren: Nicole (John Payne) Juel Of Oklahoma, Crystal and husband Mike Lempka of Wood River and Michael and wife Tamara Juel of Lexington. Eight great grandchildren: Jaszaman, NovaAnn, Vanessa, Jaden, Haley, Lee, Allan and Blake. Numerous other relatives and friends. Betty was preceded in death by her parents, husband, sons: John Joseph and Allan, daughter, Nancy Rankin and her husband Charles, brother, David Sanks Sister, June Herron as well as three infant siblings. Visitation will be held Wednesday, July 10, 2019 from 5-7p.m. at Reynolds-Love Funeral Home in Lexington. Funeral services will be held Thursday, July 11, 2019 at 9:30 a.m. at the LexChristian Church in Lexington with Pastor James Morton, officiating. Interment will be in the Fort McPherson National Cemetery at Maxwell, Nebraska. Memorials are suggested to Michael Juel for a memorial to be designated later.
