Donald Eugene Pallett, 86, of Lexington passed away Sunday, September 2, 2018 at the Lexington Regional Health Center. Donald was born May 23, 1932 in Gothenburg, Nebraska to Roy Christopher and Lena Pearl (Brown) Pallett. Donald attended Cozad grade school through the third grade. In June 1941 the family moved to California and later to Oregon where Donald received his education, graduating from Oregon State College, in 1955, with a Bachelor’s Degree in Civil Engineering. Donald specialized in construction engineering holding positions as a resident engineer representing the owner, project engineer for various contactors and crew superintendent in charge of construction. In 1989 Donald returned to Nebraska to help care for his parents. After his father passed away Donald remained in Nebraska to take care of his mother. By the time she passed away Donald was too old to go back into his work as an engineer. Donald retired in 1998 and made his home with friend Dorothy Glenn in Lexington. To occupy his spare time, while in Nebraska, Donald made the study of law his main interest. Donald was passionate and strived to enlighten those around him of the rights of the Constitution of the Unites States. Donald was preceded in death by his parents, Roy and Lena and a son David Pallett of Amity, Oregon. Those left behind include; his friend Dorothy Glenn of Lexington; son, Roy and wife Denise Pallett of Stayton, Oregon; daughter-in-law, Paula Pallett of Amity, Oregon; brother, Robert and wife Colleen Pallett of Tenino, Washington; four grandchildren, Derek Pallett, Caitlin Pallett, Luke Pallett and Alex Pallett and two great-grandchildren. It was Donald’s request to be cremated. Graveside services will be held Saturday, October 6, 2018 at 2:00 p.m. at the Cozad Cemetery in Cozad with Pastor Nathan Rhea, officiating.
