Dolores C. “Dee” Blaydes, 87, of Johnson Lake, Nebraska, passed away on Monday, November 11, 2019 at the University of Nebraska Medical Center in Omaha. She was born February 23, 1932 to Sigvard and Helen (Erickson) Jensen in Hawarden, Iowa. She graduated from Omaha Technical High School in 1949 and became the Production Manager at Bozell & Jacobs advertising agency. She was united in marriage to Carl Blaydes on August 24, 1973 in Sioux Falls, South Dakota, who preceded her in death in 2004. In November of 2004, Dee moved to Johnson Lake to be closer to family. She enjoyed living at the lake and was known as “MommaLake” to her friends and family. She enjoyed being a member of the Johnson Lake Ladies Luncheon group and the dart league at LakeShore Marina. Dee loved fishing and was an active member of a Omaha fishing club. She also enjoyed quilting, traveling, and was an artist. In her later years, Dee picked up photography and took many wildlife pictures around Johnson Lake. She had a soft heart for animals and had two rescue cats, Willie and Lillie. She is survived by her children, Richard (Debra) Carlberg, Jr, of Omaha, Eric Carlberg of Johnson Lake, Edward “EJ” (Nicole) Carlberg of Omaha and Karen (Dan) Finken of Johnson Lake; step-sons, Jack (Judy) Blaydes of Rodger, Wisconsin, Rod (Diane) Blaydes of Elk River, Minnesota and Larry (Deborah) Blaydes of Fremont, Nebraska; many grandchildren and great grandchildren; her cat, Willie; also survived by nieces, nephews, extended family and many friends. Dee was preceded in death by her parents, husband, Carl; daughter-in-law, Denise and two brothers, Douglas and Lawrence. A time of gathering with family and friends will be held on Wednesday, November 20, 2019 from 11:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. at Reynolds-Love Funeral Home in Lexington.
