Deanne Jean Edgington

Deanne Jean Edgington, age 84, passed away peacefully on March 15, 2025, in Cheyenne, Wyoming.

She was born on August 12, 1940, in Callaway, Nebraska to Herbert and Lorraine G’Schwind. She graduated from Callaway High School in 1958. She went to Methodist School of Nursing in Omaha, Nebraska and graduated in 1961. She married Maurice Gary Edgington on December 27, 1963. The couple later divorced.

She moved to Denver, Colorado and worked as a nurse and then at New Beginnings- A Home for Mothers affiliated with (WELS) Wisconsin Evangelical Lutheran Synod. In 1997, she moved to Cheyenne, Wyoming to be close to her family. She worked as a foster grandparent for Laramie County School District for 11 years and then volunteered at Good Shepherd Lutheran preschool in Cheyenne.

She is survived by her daughter, Heide (Ron) Mcomber of Cheyenne, Wyoming; two granddaughters, Heather Mcomber, Cheyenne, Wyoming and Holly (Cecil) Turner of Lambsborn, Germany; two grandchildren, Declan and Mia Turner; and sister, Denise (Jerry) Nichelson of Callaway, Nebraska.

She was preceded in death by her parents; brother, Herbert G’Schwind Jr.; and sister, Ramona G’Schwind.

She loved her family very much and will be missed beyond words! We take comfort knowing she is with her Lord and Savior!

Visitation will be at Wiederspahn Radomsky Chapel of the Chimes on Thursday, March 20, 2025, from 2:00 to 4:00 p.m.

Funeral Service will be held on Friday, March 21, 2025, at Good Shepherd Lutheran Church at 10:00 a.m., 4776 Mountain Rd, Cheyenne, Wyoming with Pastor Aaron Nitz officiating, and a light luncheon to follow.

Burial is planned for Monday, March 24, 2025, at Rose Hill Cemetery in Callaway, Nebraska at 2:00 p.m.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be directed to Good Shepherd Lutheran Church in Cheyenne, Wyoming.
