Cynthia Ann “Cindy” Edgington, 54, of Callaway, Nebraska, died Thursday, April 27, 2017, at CHI Good Samaritan – Kearney.
She was born August 24, 1962, in Oconto, Nebraska, to Stanley Edward and Carol Joan (Brown) Spellman. She grew up on the family farm outside of Oconto, and graduated with the Sumner High School class of 1980. Her family was the 5th generation to live on the farm.
Cindy was united in marriage to long-time Callaway pharmacist, Robert Edgington on April 18, 1987, in Callaway. Four children were born to this union; John, Becky, Larissa, and Noah. Cindy welcomed Robert’s children from a previous marriage, Robin, and Robert Lee, Jr., as her own.
Cindy absolutely loved being a mother, and in later years a grandma as well. She also enjoyed reading, sewing, baking, and her beloved fur-babies. Cindy was a kind gal who always had a smile on her face, a nice word for anyone she’d meet on the street. Her health was an issue she suffered with for quite a few years, she fought hard, but just couldn’t do it anymore toward the end. She’ll be so very missed.
She was a member of the United Methodist Church in Callaway and the Eastern Star.
She is survived by her children; Robert Lee Edgington, Jr. of Callaway, Nebraska, John Edgington and Noah Edgington both of Lincoln, Nebraska, Robin (Scott) Likens of Hallam, Nebraska, Becky (Keenan) Hennings of Lincoln, Nebraska, and Larissa (Caleb Wiedeman) Edgington of Shelton, Nebraska; her mother, Carol Spellman of Oconto, Nebraska; brother, James (Gina) Spellman of North Platte, Nebraska; five grandchildren, Dillon and Jaylee Likens; Joslyn Edgington, Kamden Hennings, and Charla Edgington; also surviving are nieces, nephews, cousins, extended family and friends.
Cindy was preceded in death by her father; husband, Robert in 2010, and nephew, Taylor Spellman.
