Casey Trevor McGee, 42, of Lexington passed away Sunday November 25, 2018 at his home in Lexington. Casey Trevor McGee was born in Lexington, Nebraska on October 20, 1976 to Marion and Ann McGee. He was the youngest of three sons. It was evident shortly after birth that Casey had multiple problems requiring early surgeries and hospitalizations. In spite of that, he was a very joyful kid who grew into a joyful adult. His smile was infectious and the smallest things would send him into peals of laughter. Intellectually, he did not advance beyond a 15 month old and was non-verbal. Yet, that did not prevent him from enjoying life on every level. Casey was fortunate to have many caring teachers and teacher’s aides from the time he was 2 through age 21. He then entered the residence and workshop opportunities of South Central Developmental Services. He had loving caregivers throughout his lifetime. He leaves behind many friends. Casey is survived by his parents; two brothers, Kirk McGee (Tai) of Bellevue, Idaho and Craig McGee (MK) of Elkhorn, Nebraska. Nephew Alex McGee of Lincoln, NE; nieces, Victoria McGee of Lincoln, Maddie and Lauren McGee of Elkhorn, Caitlin and Kristen Suire of Bellevue, ID; Aunts Sue Clements (Wayne) of Casper, Wyoming, Jane Ruppert (Duane) of Ogallala, Nebraska; Uncle, Dennis McGee (Jean) of Omaha, Nebraska; many cousins and friends. Casey was preceded in death by grandparents Ray and Eleanor Hasselquist and Orley and Doris McGee. A Celebration Of Life will be held Friday, November 30, 2018 at 11:00 a.m. at Reynolds-Love Funeral Home In Lexington. Inurnment will be at a later date at Fairfield Cemetery south of Smithfield, Nebraska. Memorials are suggested to Special Olympics,Central Plains Home Health & Hospice, or a project to be determined at South Central Developmental Services in Cozad, Nebraska.
