Carmelita "Lynn" Hatcher

Carmelita “Lynn” Hatcher, 63, of Sumner, Nebraska passed away on Monday, January 27, 2020 at her home with her family by her side. Lynn was born July 30, 1956, at Cozad, Nebraska to Walter and Betty (Maynard) Griffis. She received her education from Cozad graduating with the class of 1974. She was united in marriage to Kevin Wheeler in 1975 in Cozad. One daughter was blessed to this union: Crystal. The family made their home in Cozad where they were both employed by Tenneco Monroe’s. They would later divorce and Kevin preceded her in death in 1999. Lynn lived in Vegas for a short time before moving back to Cozad working as a cook. She was then united in marriage to Terry White and they resided in Sumner, Nebraska where she would live the next fifteen years until her passing. Terry preceded her in death in 2014. She was a huge fan of the Walking Dead and watching wrestling. She loved being outdoors, whether it be hunting or fishing. She was an avid Nebraska Husker football fan and she always enjoyed socializing with her friends. Lynn leaves to celebrate her life, her daughter, Crystal Wheeler of Sumner; her three grandchildren, Donovan Fischer of Sumner, Hannah Fischer of Cozad and Kevin Fischer of Sumner; one great-granddaughter, Evalynn of Cozad; and a brother, Walter Griffis of Gothenburg; also survived by three nieces, two nephews, extended family and friends. She was preceded in death by her parents; husbands, Kevin and Terry; and brother, Gerald Griffis. A Celebration of Life will take place on Saturday, February 1, 2020 at 5:00 p.m. at Big E’s in Cozad, Nebraska. There will be no visitation, the family is honoring Lynn’s wish for cremation.
