Carl William Loveless

Carl William Loveless, 82, of Gothenburg, Nebraska, formerly of Lexington passed away on Wednesday, May 1, 2019 at his home. He was born August 26, 1936 in Denver, Colorado to Carl Wilbur and Elva (Vote) Loveless. Carl grew up and attended school in Denver. In his early years Carl worked for a company that manufactured band uniforms. He then began a career for Wal-Mart where he worked as a Maintenance Manager for 14 years. He was united in marriage to Leona Steinke on May 25, 1984 in Arvada, Colorado. One daughter was blessed to this union: Patricia. They made their home in Arvada before moving to Lexington, Nebraska in 1995 where he was employed with Wal-Mart before retiring in 2007. In December of 2014, they moved to Gothenburg, Nebraska. Carl enjoyed fishing, golfing, playing cards, watching westerns and loved animals, especially cats. In his later years, he enjoyed simply watching his grandchildren play. Carl was a member of Trinity Lutheran Church in Lexington. He leaves his wife of 34 years, Leona (Steinke) Loveless; his daughter, Patty Stewart and her husband Ian and his two grandchildren Josephine and Trace. He also leaves behind stepson, Peter Graham and wife Roxanne and a stepdaughter, Veronica Shepherd and husband Gene, and granddaughter Sarah. He also leaves behind several beloved nieces, nephews, extended family and many friends. Carl was preceded in death by his parents and brother, Raymond Joseph. Funeral Service will be on Monday, May 6, 2019 at 10:00 a.m. at Trinity Lutheran Church in Lexington with Pastor Bill Ohlmann and Pastor Rob Kuefner, officiating. Visitation will be held on Sunday, May 5, 2019 from 2-4 p.m. at Reynolds-Love Funeral Home in Lexington. Burial will be on Monday, May 6, 2019 at 2:00 p.m. MDT in Venango Cemetery in Venango, Nebraska. Memorials are kindly suggested to the family for later designation.
