Byron Joseph Schuckman

Byron Joseph Schuckman, 68, of Lexington, Nebraska, passed away on Saturday, June 3, 2023, at Lexington Regional Health Center in Lexington.

He was born on December 27, 1954 in Lexington, Nebraska, to Edward and Martha (Golka) Schuckman. He graduated from St. Ann’s High School, where he was an exceptional athlete, with the class of 1973. After graduation, he worked briefly for Dawson County Roads Department. He then began working for the City of Lexington where he stayed for the next 20 years. Wanting a change, he began working for the Lexington Area Solid Waste Management where he worked for several years before his health declined. Byron was a big fan of Husker football, riding his Harley and spending quality time with his beloved cat, Moxie.

Survivors include his brother, Barry (Dee) Schuckman of Lincoln, Nebraska; nephews, Derek (Abby) Schuckman of Fontana, California, Brady (Rebecca Gilbert) Schuckman of Charlotte, North Carolina, and Brynn Schuckman of Scottsdale, Arizona; great nieces and nephews, C.J., Emily, and Erica of Fontana, California , and his faithful cat, Moxie.

He was preceded in death by his parents and his grandparents.

There will be no visitation as the family is honoring Byron’s wish for cremation.

A Graveside Service will take place on Thursday, June 8, 2023, at 11:00 a.m. at St. Ann’s Catholic Cemetery with Father Jose Chavez, officiating.

Memorials are kindly suggested to Lexington Regional Health Center or St. Ann’s Cemetery.
