Bonnie J. Bonczynski, 84, of Lexington, Nebraska passed away on Tuesday, August 27, 2024 at CHI Health Good Samaritan Hospital in Kearney.
She was born September 9, 1939, the only child to Leslie L. and Mattie (Dudden) Jay in Denver, Colorado. Bonnie attended schools in Western Nebraska and graduated from Bridgeport High School in 1957.
Bonnie was united in marriage to Leonard F. Bonczynski on December 28, 1957 in Bridgeport, Nebraska. After 62 years of marriage, Leonard preceded Bonnie in death in 2019. Following their marriage, they moved to Salt Lake City, Utah where they both attended school and then moved to Chino, California. Bonnie was active in horse shows and saddle clubs while in California. They moved to Lexington in 1968 and were owners of Len’s Liquor for 37 years before retiring in 2005.
She was a member of Trinity Lutheran Church in Lexington.
Bonnie is survived by several nieces, nephews, and cousins.
Bonnie was preceded in death by her parents and husband, Leonard.
A Celebration of Life Service will be held on Monday, September 9, 2024 at 10:30 a.m. at Trinity Lutheran Church in Lexington with Pastor Rob Kuefner, officiating.
Inurnment will take place at Rose Hill Cemetery in Callaway following the meal at the church.
