Betty Glee Stubbs

June 12, 1942 — January 26, 2023

Betty Glee Stubbs, 80, of Lexington, Nebraska, passed away on Thursday, January 26, 2023, at CHI Health St. Francis in Grand Island, Nebraska.

She was born on June 12, 1942, in Lexington, Nebraska to Loton and Mryna (Bowden) Todd. Betty went to Lexington High School where she met the love of her life, Dwight who spotted her walking to school one day. He was smitten as a kitten and had his friend Tom feel out the situation. Once he was sure it might be a go, Dwight mustered up the courage over the Orange Crush fountain at the Lex Drive where Betty was working for her father’s business to ask her out on a date. It was love at first sight, and the two were inseparable after that moment. They were married on June 25, 1961, after Betty graduated cosmetology school. Their journey together began in Lexington until moving to Cozad, Gothenburg, Sidney, and eventually back to Lexington upon Dwight’s retirement.

Betty enjoyed traveling on motorcycles and going to old car shows with Dwight. They would go on Friday night dinner dates with friends and loved being with her family doing things like playing cards or taking weekend trips to Johnson Lake.

She was active with PEO, bridge club, and was a consistent volunteer for Meals on Wheels and local elections.

Heaven gained one of the sweetest people ever to walk this earth, and we are thankful that her legs are healthy and strong again, so she is able to walk once again in Heaven.

Betty is survived by her soulmate, Dwight; sister, Peggy Sherman; son, Todd (Susi) Stubbs; daughter, Tami (Chris) Harmon; grandchildren, Mitchell Harmon, Hayden Harmon, Beth Advey, and Sam Advey.

She is preceded in death by her parents, Mryna and Loton Todd and her beloved doggie, Cooper.
