A. Myrl Kneeland

A. Myrl Kneeland, age 96, died November 30, 2024, at Seneca Sunrise Assisted Living Center in Ravenna, NE. 

Myrl was born December 16, 1927, in Amherst, NE to Fred and Edna (Freeze) Holliday. She attended school in Amherst and graduated from Lexington Public School in 1945.

Myrl learned her 'art' of baking at a boarding house while attending high school in Lexington. This is also where she met her husband, Bryce Kneeland. They married in 1948 and moved to Ravenna in 1949. She cooked, baked, and sewed there for 25 years while raising their six children.

They returned to Lexington in 1974, and in 1976 Myrl went to work cooking and baking at Little Paris Cafe, Dottie's Diner, and Little Paris Family Restaurant until she retired in 1996. She was known for her rolls and pies. She belonged to the Methodist Church and Lexington Hospital Auxiliary. Myrl enjoyed the many trips she took with Allied Fun Tours for over 10 years.

Myrl was preceded in death by her husband Bryce and other loved ones. 

She is survived by her children Arch of Lexington, Connie (John) Allan of Kearney, Diane Alcorn of Spearfish, SD, Karen (John) Rolfsmeyer of Ravenna, Deb Paris of York, and David (Danielle) of Grand Island. Also 17 grandchildren and 26 great grandchildren, and other relatives.

A memorial service will be held on Monday, December 9, 2024, at 11:00 am at Reynolds-Love Funeral Home in Lexington, NE with Lay Minister, Sarah Neben, officiating. There will be a visitation an hour prior to the service.

Burial will be at Mt. Hope Cemetery in Rural Lexington following the service.

In lieu of flowers, memorials are suggested to the family for later designation. Memorials for the family may also be mailed to Reynolds-Love Funeral Home.
