Adela de la Cruz, 55, of Lexington, Nebraska, died Wednesday, October 27, 2010, at Tri-County Hospital in Lexington following a courageous fight with cancer. She was born September 8, 1955, at Tiquisate, Escuintla, Guatemala, to Jose de la Cruz and Francisca de Paz Garcia. Adela moved to Lexington in 1993 and went to work for IBP, which was later bought by Tyson Fresh Meats. Adela worked in Production at Tyson. She worked until August of 2010, when her health forced her to retire. She loved to listen to music, dance, cook and spend time with her family and friends. Adela had a heart of gold and will be very missed by her only son, Williams as well as the rest of her extended family. She is survived by one son: Williams Estuardo de la Cruz of Lexington, Nebraska She is also survived by two brothers, five sisters and many nieces, nephews, other relatives and many friends. Adela was preceded in death by her parents and one brother. Mass of Christian Burial will be Tuesday, November 2, 2010, at 10:30 a.m. at St. Ann’s Catholic Church in Lexington, Nebraska with Reverend Jorge Canela officiating. Burial will be held later in the Cementario General de Tiquisate in Tiquisate, Guatemala. Visitation will be held Monday, November 1, 2010, from 10:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. at the Reynolds-Love Funeral Chapel in Lexington. Rosary will be recited that same evening at 5:00 p.m. also at Reynolds-Love Funeral Chapel. Memorials are suggested to the Family. Reynolds-Love Funeral Home in Lexington is in charge of local arrangements and Funeraria Los Angeles Tiquisate is in charge of arrangements in Guatemala.
