Marie Martha Knoedler, 98, of Lexington, Nebraska, died Tuesday, September 28, 2010, at Plum Creek Care Center in Lexington.
She was born November 14, 1911, at Eustis, Nebraska to Ludwig and Pauline Dorthea (Schoor) Knoedler. Marie attended elementary school in Eustis and graduated from Lexington High School. She then attended LPN School at Kearney.
Marie worked for a time as a live-in babysitter for a family in North Platte and after receiving her LPN degree she worked at the Lexington Hospital in nursing as well as a Medical Record Technician. She never married and lived with her sister, Bertha. The sisters enjoyed spending time with the family and Marie enjoyed her flower and vegetables gardens, golfing, baking, her cat, playing the organ and bowling.
She was a member of the First United Methodist Church in Lexington and was confirmed in the Eustis Methodist Church when she was 13. Marie was active in the Methodist Women’s Society. She was also a member of the Town & Country Garden Club.

Ray Patten of Columbus, Ohio
Five nieces: Lola (Vernon) Emery of Ekalaka, Montana
Dorothy Northwall of Omaha, Nebraska
Kathleen (George) VanPelt of Kimball, Nebraska
Louise Knoedler of North Platte, Nebraska
Vicki (Dave) Childers of Lakeland, Florida
Many great-nieces and nephews as well as great-great-nieces and nephews and cousins.
Marie was preceded in death by her parents; four sisters, Mable, Emma, Bertha & Emily; three brothers, Paul, Carl & Fred; two nieces, Twila Neben and Arvella Patten and one nephew, Carl Knoedler, Jr.
Funeral Services will be Friday, October 1, 2010, at 10:00 a.m. at the First United Methodist Church in Lexington with Reverend Tess Hufford officiating.
Burial will be in the Eustis (East) Cemetery at Eustis, Nebraska.
Visitation will be held Thursday, September 30, 2010, from 5-7 p.m. at Reynolds-Love Funeral Home in Lexington.
