Stanley R. Shreves, 67, of Lexington, Nebraska, died Saturday, September 11, 2010, at Tri-County Hospital in Lexington.
He was born April 25, 1943, at Lexington, Nebraska to Otto and Elsie (Poppe) Shreves. Stanley attended school at Lexington. He was baptized at Trinity Lutheran Church in Lexington. He served his Country in the United States Air Force. Stanley was united in marriage to Nancy Mayes on February 28, 1964, in Colorado. Two children were blessed to this marriage; Brenda and Bruce. The marriage later ended in divorce.
Stanley was a body and fender man for several years and then drove truck over-the-road for the next 40 years. His health forced him to retire. He lived in several towns throughout his life, returning to Lexington in the 1980’s. He enjoyed Nascar racing, hunting, fishing and riding dune buggies. Infact, his handle on the CB radio was “Dune Buggy”. He loved to tease, had a great sense of humor, but most especially, loved his grandkids and his great-granddaughter, Jenna Lynn.
