Christopher Jude Centerbar

Christopher Jude Centerbar, 46, of Johnson Lake, Nebraska, died Monday, September 6, 2010, at his home at Johnson Lake. He was born January 15, 1964, at Burlington, Vermont to William and Irene (Bryant) Centerbar. He attended school at Burlington. In June of 1999, he left Burlington, Vermont for California. He spent some time there and moved to the Lexington area in 2000 to work at IBP. Christopher was a certified welder and worked construction. Christopher was united in marriage to Shelly Snow on July 14, 2005 at Elwood, Nebraska. The couple enjoyed their home at Johnson Lake where Christopher loved to garden, especially flowers and was a life member of the National Home Gardening Club. He also loved hard rock music, especially Pink Floyd. They always loved going to Comstock Rock. Chris and his dog Coach were the best of friends and Chris adored his kitten, J.J. Christopher is survived by his best friend and wife: Shelly Centerbar of Johnson Lake, Nebraska One son: Scott Christopher Centerbar of Burlington, Vermont Three brothers: Dan Centerbar of Streamwood, Illinois Jay (Vicki) Centerbar of Richmond, Vermont Shawn Centerbar of St. Albans, Vermont Two sisters: Michelle Centerbar of Shelburne, Vermont Holly LaRock of Burlington, Vermont Three grandchildren: Mykala, Riley and Cayden. Christopher was preceded in death by his parents. The family has honored Christopher’s wishes that his body be cremated. A Memorial Celebration of his Life will be held Friday, September 17, 2010, at 10:30 a.m. at The Chapel of the Lake at Johnson Lake with Revered Caroline Vickery officiating. There will be no visitation. Memorials are suggested to the Centerbar Family for later designation. Reynolds-Love Funeral Home in Lexington is in charge of arrangements.
