Marcia Lynne Townsend, born Marcia Lynne Woodward, 70, passed away on June 29, 2010 at her home in Williamstown, WV. Marcia was born on January 9, 1940, the youngest of five girls on a farm in Callaway, Nebraska, to Hilma Christine Kolbo and Marshall Jason Woodward. She will return to the home place for her final family reunion to rest next to her mother and father. Marcia was first and foremost a mother and grandmother, taking care of her children, Cheryl Ann Vigneron and husband Charles, Timothy Gail Townsend, and Christina Lynne Brumley and husband Christopher, and her grandchildren Morganna Leigh Vigneron and Lauren Helena and Elise Christine Brumley, until her death. She is also survived by her four sisters, Betty Reed, and husband Robert, of Hamburg, Iowa, Ruth Rosentrater, and husband Glen, of Arnold, Nebraska, Lucille Beshaler, and husband LeRoy, of Callaway, Nebraska, and Sue Comer, and husband Benjamin, of Mesa, Arizona. She was a loving sister and aunt to many nieces and nephews living across the United States. They all feel very blessed to have had her in their lives. Marcia was an active member of Sand Hill United Methodist, where she worked alongside many friends in the church’s ministries. Her presence in the church kitchen will be greatly missed. Funeral services will be held at 10 a.m., on Thursday, July 1, 2010 at the Sand Hill United Methodist Church, 1295 Old River Road, Williamstown, WV with Rev. Dr. Gary Nelson officiating. Visitation will be at the church from 6-8 p.m., Wednesday, June 30, and beginning at 9 a.m. on Thursday immediately prior to services. Burial will be in Callaway, Nebraska with services at Waldheim Cemetery officiated by Reverend Roger Gillming at 11:00 a.m., Saturday, July 3, 2010. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Sand Hill United Methodist Church Building Fund in her memory. Timm-Reynolds-Love Funeral Home in Callaway, Nebraska is in charge of local arrangements.
