Christopher Vosveli Estrada, 16, of Lexington, Nebraska, died Tuesday, May 25, 2010, the result of a drowning accident south of Cozad.
He was born February 17, 1994, at Tarzana, California to Ciriaco and Aracely (Hernandez) Estrada.
Chris moved with his family to Lexington in 1997, when he was 3 years old. He attended Sandoz and Pershing Elementary schools, Lexington Middle School and had just completed his sophomore year at Lexington High School.
Chris was an excellent soccer player and was #24 on the Lexington High School soccer team. He was involved in track, basketball and was an excellent student in school.
He loved attending St. Ann’s Catholic Church and had just received his first communion on April 25, 2010. Chris cherished his family and the time spent with them. He loved being with his friends, listening to music and always wearing a huge smile. He was a great son and never gave anybody any trouble. He will be so very missed.
Survivors include his parents of Lexington, Nebraska
His siblings: Erick and Melanie Estrada both of Lexington, Nebraska
Grandmothers: Isabel Molina and Edith Monterrosa both of Guatemala as well as many aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces, nephews and many, many friends.
Christopher was preceded in death by both grandfathers.
Mass of Christian Burial will be Saturday, May 29, 2010 at 10:30 a.m. at St. Ann’s Parish Center on Taft Street in Lexington with Reverends Paul Colling and Jorge Canela Con-celebrating.
Visitation will be held Friday, May 28, 2010, from 2-7 p.m. at St. Ann’s Parish Center with Wake Service at 7:00 p.m. also at the Parish Center.
Burial will be in St. Ann’s Catholic Cemetery at Lexington.
