Alice Ellen Gamble, 91, of Lexington, Nebraska, died Tuesday, May 18, 2010, at Plum Creek Care Center in Lexington.
She was born March 16, 1919, at Buffalo, Nebraska to Timothy and Emma (Gilmore) Wood. Alice attended Overton Public Schools. She was united in marriage to James Gamble on June 9, 1939 at Elwood, Nebraska. Two daughters were blessed to this marriage, Bonnie & Connie.
Alice lived at Eastlawn Apartments in Lexington for 18 years prior to moving to Plum Creek Care Center in September of 1998. She was the unofficial “greeter” at the door at Plum Creek and anyone who entered was always greeted with a cheery “Good Morning”.
She enjoyed going to church, greeting people and making new friends. Alice will be so missed.

LaGaya Broadstone of Lincoln, Nebraska
Two great-grandchildren: Brittany and Logan
Three great-great-grandchildren: Kaylee, Christopher & Ashland
Three brothers: Ervin, Don and Lester Wood all of Nebraska
Two Special friends: Chrystal Noonan and Raymond Linden
Alice was preceded in death by her parents; husband, James on January 7, 1980; and two brothers, Boyd & Cecil.
A Visitation will be held on Friday, May 21, 2010, from 9:00 a.m. to 11:00 a.m. at Reynolds-Love Funeral Home in Lexington.
Graveside Services will be Friday, May 21, 2010, at 1:00 p.m. at Robb Cemetery south of Lexington with Reverend Caroline Vickery officiating.
Memorials are suggested to the Family for later designation.
