Violet Knapple, 95, of Lincoln, Nebraska, formerly of Lexington, passed away Wednesday, March 24, 2010, at her son’s home in Lincoln.
She was born May 17, 1914, at Upland, Nebraska to Perly and Louise (Trembly) Monk.
Vi went to grade school in Newark, Nebraska and moved to Elm Creek when she was 10 years old. She graduated from Elm Creek High School with the class of 1931. She was united in marriage to Earl Knapple on October 21, 1941 at Holdrege, Nebraska. The couple was blessed with one son, Steve.
Vi worked outside of the home for 9 years at Reach Electronics in the Advertising Department. She was a member of the First Presbyterian church and the Eastern Star.
She was a wonderful wife and mother and enjoyed being with her family and visiting with friends and neighbors. Vi was a true “lady” and will be so very missed.
Survivors include her son and his wife: Steve and Shirley Knapple of Lincoln, Nebraska
One granddaughter: Carly Knapple of Lincoln, Nebraska
One great-granddaughter: Bella Louise of Lincoln, Nebraska
Vi was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Earl; three brothers, Ivan, Ray and Wayne and four sisters, Irene, Della, Edna and Vivian.
A Memorial Service will be held Monday, March 29, 2010 at 11:00 a.m. at the First Presbyterian Church in Lexington with Reverend Caroline Vickery officiating.
Burial will be held prior to the Memorial Service at the Greenwood Cemetery in Lexington.
Visitation will be held Sunday, March 28, 2010 from 3-5 p.m. at the Reynolds-Love Funeral Home in Lexington.
Memorials are suggested to the Family for later designation.
