Peter Franklin Sands

Peter Franklin Sands, 50, of Holdrege, Nebraska, formerly of Lexington, died Sunday, March 14, 2010, at Good Samaritan Hospital in Kearney. He was born November 21, 1959, at Scottsbluff, Nebraska to Franklin Peter and Audra Jean (Elliott) Sands. Peter was living at New Brown residential house with Mosaic in Holdrege, Nebraska at the time of his death. He so enjoyed his four roommates. Peter was a member of St. Peter’s in the Valley Episcopal Church in Lexington as well as St. Elizabeth’s Episcopal Church in Holdrege. He loved his church and enjoyed reading scripture and singing hymns. He also was an avid swimmer, enjoying the waterslides and diving. He liked to snow ski, walk, fireworks on the 4th of July and soda pop. Survivors include his mother: Jean Sands of Lexington, Nebraska Four brothers: James R. “Randy” Sands of Punta Gorda, Florida Jeff & Pam Sands of Golden, Colorado Andy & Donna Sands of Greeley, Colorado Scott Sands of Houston, Texas One sister: Sue Ann Sands-Buss & Randy Buss of Kearney, Nebraska Two nephews: Sean Sands of Brookings, South Dakota Tyrell Sands of Denver, Colorado Three nieces: Abby Sands of Denver, Colorado Annah Buss of Omaha, Nebraska Rachel Buss of Kearney, Nebraska One Great-niece: Bergen Sands of Brookings, South Dakota Peter was preceded in death by his grandparents and his father. The family has chosen cremation and there will be no visitation. A Memorial Funeral Mass will be held Wednesday, March 17, 2010, at 2:00 p.m. at St. Peter’s in the Valley Episcopal Church in Lexington, Nebraska with Reverend Kay Knudson officiating. Inurnment will be held prior to the Mass at Greenwood Cemetery in Lexington. Memorials are suggested to Mosaic in Holdrege, Nebraska.
