Margaret “Louise” Seward, 82, of Lexington, Nebraska, died Monday, March 1, 2010, at Good Samaritan Hospital in Kearney.
She was born March 31, 1927 at Moline, Kansas to Jay B. and Myrtle A. (Lee) McNown. Louise attended school at Moline and during high school she worked at Boeing Aircraft during WWII as a “Rosie the Riveter”. Louise was united in marriage to Richard R. Seward on July 7, 1945 at the Methodist Church in Topeka, Kansas. The couple was blessed with five children; John, Rick, Randy, Brenda and Michelle.
Louise worked at Standard Oil Company in Topeka, Kansas and in 1951 the couple moved to Kearney where she worked for Quality Oil Company and was the first to open a convenience store in Kearney, which offered the first car wash.
In 1971, the couple moved to the Lexington area and opened Krazy Dick’s, five miles south of Lexington. Louise worked for the City of Lexington at the Grand Generation Center for 7 years, where she enjoyed the people and made many, many friends.
Louise was a member of the First United Methodist Church. She always had a wonderful smile and a kind word for all she came in contact with. She will be so missed.

Randy & Ruth Seward of Johnson Lake, Nebraska
Two daughters: Brenda & Brad Meineke of Omaha, Nebraska
Michelle & Paul Shelton of Gilbert, Arizona
Three sisters: Lorene Runyon of Sedan, Kansas
Alta Ehrlich of Enid, Oklahoma
Peggy Ward of Wichita, Kansas
Sixteen grandchildren, fifteen great-grandchildren with two on the way and two great-great-grandchildren as well as several nieces and nephews.
Louise was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Dick; five brothers and three sisters.
Funeral Services will be Saturday, March 6, 2010, at 10:00 a.m. at the First United Methodist Church in Lexington with Reverend Todd Karges officiating.
Burial will be in the Greenwood Cemetery at Lexington.
Visitation will be held Friday, March 5, 2010 from 5-7 p.m. at the Reynolds-Love Funeral Home in Lexington.
Memorials are suggested to the Family for later designation.
