Herminia Sanchez Barrios

Herminia Sanchez Barrios, 45, of Lexington, Nebraska, died Sunday, February 7, 2010, at Good Samaritan Hospital in Kearney, Nebraska. She was born May 18, 1964, at Tepetongo, Zacatecas, Mexico to Paulo Barrios Torres and Maria De Jesus Hernandez. She was united in marriage to Saul Sanchez and two boys were blessed to this marriage; Rolando and Rogelio. Herminia moved to the United States as a young girl, first living in Los Angeles, California and then moving to Lexington, Nebraska in 1996. She worked for IBP for a time, but later stayed home to care for her children and family. She was very active in St. Ann’s Catholic Church, always helping where needed and always very prayerful. Herminia was a wonderful mother and wife and loved cooking and having her large family over for family dinners. She always put everyone else’s needs before herself and it was common knowledge that folks could come to her to discuss their troubles. She will be so very missed. Survivors include her husband: Saul Sanchez of Lexington, Nebraska Her sons: Rolando and Rogelio Sanchez of Lexington, Nebraska Her parents: Paulo Barrios Torres and Maria De Jesus of Tepetongo, Mexico Four brothers: Humberto and Maria (Platon) Barrios of Los Angeles, California Aurelio Barrios and Aimee Sanchez of Lexington, Nebraska Fernando Barrios of Lexington, Nebraska Rodrigo Barrios of Lexington, Nebraska Four sisters: Lucia Barrios of Tepetongo, Mexico Fatima and Jose Manuel Sanchez of Lexington, Nebraska Maria and Alejandro Rivas of Lexington, Nebraska Magdalena and Vincente Acevedo of Lexington, Nebraska Numerous nieces, nephews, other relatives and many friends. Mass of Christian Burial will be Friday, February 12, 2010 at 10:00 a.m. at St. Ann’s Catholic Church in Lexington with Father Jorge Canela officiating. Burial will be held later at Tepetongo, Zacatecas, Mexico. Visitation will be held Thursday, February 11, 2010 from 1-6 p.m. with Rosary to follow at 6:00 p.m. at Reynolds-Love Chapel in Lexington.
