Charles Jr “Chuck” Glaze, 69, of rural Lexington, Nebraska, died Tuesday, January 5, 2010, surrounded by his family at his home.
He was born July 2, 1940, at Wellfleet, Nebraska to Charles and Katherine (Ughrin) Glaze. He was a 1958 Aggie from Curtis High School.
Chuck was united in marriage to Mary Beth Morrison on June 18, 1960, and made their home in Curtis, Nebraska. In October 1966, the couple moved to Lexington, where Charles worked for Denker Feedlot. Eight children were blessed to this marriage; seven girls, Daphne, Danita, Devri, Delinda, Dorita, Darla and Dawn and one son, Doug.
He was a lifetime member of the Catholic Church, the old school catholic, and presently a member of St. Ann’s Catholic Church where he was past Grand Knight of Council 2040, Knights of Columbus.
Chuck was always active in his children’s lives and their school activities at St. Ann’s (he never missed a football game or basketball game and made the popcorn at the games for years), also, helping them with 4-H, his beloved horses, PBR bull-riding, his other animals and, especially his dog, Sheba, and of course, his grandchildren.
He will be so very missed by his large family and friends.

Danita (John) Paul of Gothenburg, Nebraska;
Devri (Gary) White of Norphlet, Arkansas;
Delinda Glaze of Lexington, Nebraska;
Dorita Glaze of Lexington, Nebraska;
Darla Glaze of Lexington, Nebraska;
Dawn Glaze of Norphlet, Arkansas
Eight grandchildren: Karla Ellingson of Lexington, Katie Ellingson of Lexington, Alex and Tabitha Paul of Gothenburg, Aaron and Allison White of Norphlet, Arkansas, Jordyn and Ethan Glaze of Lexington.
Five great-grandchildren: Joe, Miguel, Juan, Isaiah & Madison.
One brother: Gorman (Luella) Glaze of Curtis, Nebraska
Three sisters: Louise (Marvin) Gardner of Brush, Colorado
Leona (Gary) Nutt of Curtis, Nebraska
Mary Ann (Bob) Mercer of Curtis, Nebraska
Many nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
Chuck was preceded in death by his parents; wife, Mary Beth in 2003; three brothers, Elmer, Allen & Gaylon and one sister-in-law, Helen June Glaze.
Mass of Christian Burial will be Friday, January 8, 2010, at 10:30 a.m. at St. Ann’s Catholic Church in Lexington with Reverend Paul Colling officiating.
Burial will be in the St. Ann’s Catholic Cemetery at Lexington.
Visitation will be held Thursday, January 7th from 5-7 p.m. at the Reynolds-Love Chapel in Lexington with Rosary to follow at 7:00 p.m. also at the funeral home.
Memorials are suggested to the Family for later designation.
